Ellie's Cake Smash

First, I want to start off by saying thank you to Ellie's mom for MAKING the cutest outfit and props for this cake smash session! (I mean check out that tutu~adorable!!!) Also, thank you to my friend at the Robinson Market District Giant Eagle for making the perfect smash cake. Ellie wasn't fond of getting messy, but with the help of mom and dad (and lots of peek-a-boos) we captured the laughter of Ellie enjoying her first cake. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of this milestone in Miss Ellie's life!

The idea behind cake smash sessions is to ceremoniously give your baby their first taste of sugar and photograph their reaction. That being said, some babies love to dive right in and devour their cake, and others get upset because they don't like to be "dirty" or in this case messy. Either way, the pictures are priceless.

Some things to note before your cake smash session:

1.) Your baby is going to get messy, and I mean REALLY messy. Moms and Dads, be prepared to get whatever you are wearing covered in icing. The baby will have to go right in the bathtub afterwards, so make sure to have a spare set of clothes for them to change into.

2.) Have a towel, sponge, cleaner, and paper towels on hand to clean up the area afterwards.

3.) Just remember to have fun!
