Natalie and Derek met in college at a fly fishing tournament. They had been dating for two years and lived in Florida when Derek came to me with the idea of wanting to propose. He told his then girlfriend Natalie that he bought her a photography session as a birthday present. Derek also had Natalie's sister take her to get her nails done that morning then we all met at the Mount Washington Overlook in Pittsburgh. We couldn't reschedule because of their tight timeline so I brought clear umbrellas and photographed the session in the pouring rain. I was drenched and so were my cameras but it was so worth it! I snapped a few photos of them together then I had Natalie face away while Derek got down on one knee. Looking confused, she turned around and to her surprise Derek was holding out an engagement ring and asked her to marry him. The moment he got down on his knee, a group of runners stopped and everyone cheered for them. Excitement filled the air! It was such a memorable moment and I am so incredibly happy for the both of them!! Congratulations Natalie and Derek!!
