Glacier National Park Styled Shoot

THE IDEA

I was SO EXCITED to put this styled shoot together in Glacier National park. I love photographing weddings and traveling so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to combine my two favorite things.

WHAT IS A STYLED SHOOT?

A styled shoot is a photography session that you create to build your portfolio, be creative, and network. As photographers, we sometimes need a creative outlet for our own passion projects and I LOVE to travel so this was the perfect fit for me!!

A styled shoot starts with an idea and a vision board. Next, a location is decided upon and vendors and models are contacted to be a part of your session. Finally, details and schedules are worked out during the planning process before the shoot takes place.

BACKGROUND

Finding vendors halfway across the country was challenging but we ended up with a wonderful group of ladies! Thank you so much Joanna for finding our great models as well!

If you want to photograph in any National Parks, you must get a permit. This permit was approximately 9 pages and $400 - much more than I expected. The groom's tux was rented from The Black Tux rental was around $160 but I was quite impressed with how easy that process was. The rest of the details were approximately $250. The permit required us to stay in the paved portion of the path at Logan's Pass and pay an hourly rate for a park ranger to be with us.

EXECUTION

The bride had her hair and makeup done at our Airbnb in Whitefish, Montana then we headed into the mountains. It was a two hour drive from Whitefish to Logan Pass and we were blessed with gorgeous weather. We seriously couldn't have asked for a more perfect week.

The bride wore a white ball gown and cathedral veil and the groom wore a gray tux, white dress shirt, and light blue tie. They both wore brown shoes which were perfect for this mountain location. Conrad Floral in Bigfork did an awesome job with the boquet and they have a super cute shop - definitely check them out! The blue and white florals matched everything perfectly.

We photographed the models until sunset in Logan Pass of Glacier National Park and we were visited by some curious mountain rams. The views of the mountains in Logan pass were breathtaking.

VENDORS

I am so thankful to have met all of these wonderful vendors and to have had the opportunity to work with them! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for making my vision come to life!!!
